Properties: Anhydrous yttrium chloride is highly hygroscopic, with a density of 2.67 g/cm3, a melting point of 721 ºC, and a boiling point of 1507 ºC. It is easily soluble in water and ethanol, but insoluble in ether and chloroform. When heated in air, it is prone to produce chlorine oxides.
